The iPhone 3g has significant improvements over it's predecessor: speed, software stability, and applications! The key determining factor in making the switch to the iphone was the price. $200 is a great price. The pros of this phone are it's beautiful touchscreen, and web browsing. It took me a while to get used to the lack of a physical keyboard, but now there is no way I'm going back to a keyboard. The screen size you save by having a touchscreen is just too important to give up. I have not tried out the blackberry storm yet, but it also looks like a great phone, however after using the iPhone for a few months, I simply hate blackberry in terms of user interface. Things that take 5 clicks on a blackberry take 1 or 2 on the iphone. Especially annoying are blackberry track balls, which are incredibly imprecise and annoying. Web browsing is amazing on the iPhone, although I am upset that the application store won't allow competiting products like opera's mobile browser. This might bring about faster browsing, as I am no fan of Apple's closed software. The games on the iphone are fun, but get boring after about 10 minutes. The accelerometer adds a new dimension of gameplay which will lead to more interesting games.
The cons of the iphone are no copy and paste, a lousy camera (only 2 mp!), and apple's unwillingness to open up the platform. This might ultimately lead to android taking over, but for nearly 2 years no phone has been able to rival the iphone in simplicity, elegance, or function. It might take another year for phone manufacturers to finally catch up to apple and offer a true iphone killer, but for the time being, nothing beats the iphone.

The iPhone is the most versatile phone out there. None of the other phones have an App store as extensive as the Apple's. The phone feature of this phone is not any better than any other phone and is a bit on the awkward side ergonomically speaking since you have to have a flat device next to your face. The screen does get smudged quit easily as well however the iphone comes with a microfiber cloth that can eliminate any fingerprints with relative ease. What I really like about the phone is that I can check email, weather, stocks, news, and browse the internet with a powerful browser like safari; it's much better than the browsers loaded onto blackberries in that it's better with handling pages with a lot of images. Also iTunes WiFi Music store is the most comprehensive and user friend music downloading program. Overall I highly recommend iPhone, even over Blackberry Storm or Google's G1 Phone.
